I have to admit I am not crazy about poetry as a rule, both writing and reading it. But I must say that I really enjoyed these. They have such a way of evoking memories thoughts, smells, feelings. Each poem is like a different flavor, and who doesn't remember camp flavors and smells and feelings? These poems bring them home again. Really enjoyed traveling back in time and in my memory.
This is the first book of poetry that I have read by this author, but have read many other books by Darlene, of which I have enjoyed and would recommend to anyone looking for either a quick read or a new author.
Author Darlene Franklin wrote a delightful, beautiful book of poetry. It's easy to read and a pleasure for me to read. I read this book of poetry at one sitting and I will read "When Pines Whisper Poetry of Summer" again. I recommend reading this book.
